At the weekends from June to September you can book a table inLock 16, our Seafood Restaurant enclosed on the roof of the hotel. Looking west you can see the sun set over the Corryvreckan, Jura and Scarba.

Ask about exclusive use of Lock 16, perfect for a birthday or anniversary on the roof of the hotel, booking essential. Special dishes which can be served include Jumbo Prawns Corryvreckan which is named after the Corryvreckan Whirlpool. The Corryvreckan can be heard on a still night even though it is 10 miles away. It is the second biggest whirlpool in the Western Hemisphere, and the Hotel’s signature dish, created by Nick Ryan the Hotel’s owner as a tribute to the whirlpool, is an amazing presentation of jumbo prawns and tropical fruit first inspired by a feast he saw on a visit to Pitcairn Island when he worked on the Queen Mary.

The Westwardis on the ground floor and looks out over Loch Crinan towards the islands. The Westward is included in the 2018 Michelin Guide and has been awarded L'Assiette Michelin (The Michelin Plate). Here our guests can enjoy an excellent five course gourmet dinner including some of the dishes made famous by our original Lock 16 restaurant, or a real Scottish breakfast. The menu features seafood which is freshly caught nearby and also includes other locally sourced produce such as lamb and beef - regular favourites include langoustines and Argyll Hill lamb and other local produce as well as tempting vegetarian options.

The Crinan Seafood Bar, our bistro style restaurant, is located on the ground floor of the hotel and is the ideal place to enjoy the freshest of seafood - you might even watch your jumbo prawns being landed in time for dinner. Our Seafood Bar has an extensive menu featuring fresh seafood dishes using local produce landed fresh on the quay at Crinan. Voted No 1 Gastro Pub in Scotland by The Independent, our pub lunches are also highly commended in Diana Henry's Gastro Pub cook book.

The Seafood Bar is open all year for lunch and dinner. We do not take bookings, just turn up and find a table.

The Pub also serves the Seafood Bar menu and it is cosy with a little fire and wonderful kilim covered antique solid wooden furniture and a highland cow presiding over the mantelpiece. You will get some good local chat and the chance to listen to the fishermen's tales. This bar, known to the locals as The Panther Arms, is the ideal place to enjoy refreshments, local beers and fine local whiskies following a day out in Argyll. You might even find out who (or what) the General is and why there is a link to a panther.

The Bar is open daily from 11am - 11pm. (In January & February, reduced opening hours: Lunch is served between 12.00 p.m. & 2.30 p.m. and Dinner between 6 p.m. & 8.30 p.m.)

The Crinan Coffee Shop is just a few yards away from the hotel on the edge of the canal basin. A favourite haunt of many day visitors to Crinan, the Coffee Shop is run as part of the hotel. It offers a great range of fresh home baking, light lunches and an excellent view of the boating activity outside!

Open daily 9am till 5pm March till October and weekends 10am till 4pm November and December. On all other days, Caffia coffee and home baking are available in the hotel bars or lounge.

The Argyll Hotel is less than 16.1 km from Campbeltown on the main A83 road. It sits on Bellochantuy Bay on the west of the peninsula and features a large conservatory restaurant and a beach-side terrace. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and the owners have 2 Dalmatians named Struan and Talaidh. A private beach can be accessed within a few steps of the patio.

An private bathroom is provided in most rooms at the Argyll, along with a TV and tea/coffee making facilities.

A full cooked breakfast is served each morning in the restaurant, which features views over the sea. Ingredients are locally sourced and each breakfast is made fresh on the premises.

For guests planning to go island hopping, the ferry terminal can be reached in a 30-minute drive. A regular bus service from Oban (changes at Inverarry) and direct services from Glasgow can be taken from a stop right outside the hotel.
