Thanks for this post from:

Jun 13, 2012 A popular dice-based game of chance, Banca Francesa — literally translated as “French Bank” in Portuguese—has taken over casino tables in Portugal with the opportunity to win it big. The game is played on a large semicircle table, similar to Baccarat or Punto Banco, while players choose to sit or stand around it. Leading gaming and sports betting partner Gaming1 has released the first-ever worldwide online iteration of the classic dice game, Banca Francesa. In development for more than a year, the engaging SRIJ-licenced title is already among the best-performing games in the Portuguese market following its exclusive launch with Esconline.pt in April 2020.

I noticed this game in the list by Gaming1, a provider of game software for Internet casinos. A little searching says it is a popular game in Portugal. Can anyone confirm or deny?
The rules are quite simple, there are three dice and three bets based on the total of those dice. One might say it's a very simplified version of sic bo.
71% of rolls result in a push, which makes me question my policy of counting pushes as a bet resolved.
Please have a look at my new page on Banca Francesa. As always, I welcome all questions, comments, and corrections.
Banca Francesa Casino OnlineThe question for the poll is would you play Banca Francesa?
It's not whether you win or lose; it's whether or not you had a good bet.

A dull game but, even if ties are counted, the HE is good.

Have you tried 22 tonight? I said 22.

Dang, that house edge is super low for a carnival game. I would totally play this. I miss Sic Bo. I wish Vegas would bring it back.

I vaguely remember playing it in Portugal (over 25 years ago) and due to the ties was an enjoyable leisurely game.

CP, can you confirm that a roll not resulting in any of the three wagers winning is a push for all bets?
charliepatrick
^ I think they just kept rolling the dice until an outcome. I don't recall whether there were any sidebets; it would be a similar mechanism to Craps that the base game just keeps rolling until a result is decided.
